I've always liked short stories. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood for anything longer or heavier. Which makes me glad that Neil likes to write them.Changes was truly frightening and Snow, Glass, Apples was a much more horrifying retelling of Snow White than the one we are used to. I loved both. He's in story telling mode here and that's what he does best. I had already read Chivalry ,which is wonderful and cheeky, in another collection. Murder Mysteries was sublime. The hidden story was a sweet bonus. I can't say I really liked any of the more adult ones. I'm not a prude but I really don't like graphic sex mixed with fantasy unless that's the basis of the entire book. They are well written but sort of jarred me. I'm also not a fan of his poetry. It just doesn't reach me.This still contains enough quirky material to keep a Gaiman fan happy including me.
