Crush - Richard Siken I love angsty and dark poetry far more then petals and rainbows so this volume had me rereading a good portion of it many times before I considered myself finished with it. I love raw, dark and evocative writings and poetry and these hit that mark.Others may have attributed the impact of his poems to the author's coming to terms with his homosexuality and that may be exactly what was intended. That's not what I took away from this or at least not the only thing. I also saw it as coming to terms with his own self worth. This was a journey I was glad to take along with the writer and will probably take again and again as the mood strikes.
